In continuing to celebrate the arts and culture pioneers of craft and design with our 'Light House presents' series, we're delighted to announce that two influential fashion forces – B. Åkerlund and Daniel Lismore – will be in conversation with us next month.
Trailblazing Swedish-born creative maverick B. Åkerlund is renowned for her bold, avant-garde vision and her signature over-the-top risk-taking aesthetic, styling global icons including Madonna, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Rihanna, and masterminding the wardrobes for the ABBA ‘Voyage’ show. Having celebrated three decades in fashion in 2026, her fearless approach seamlessly bridges the worlds of style, film, music, and art, transforming immersive visions into reality, where clothing becomes an ode to storytelling, self-expression, and the power of reinvention.
Hailed by Vogue as ‘England's Most Eccentric Dresser’, Daniel Lismore is a walking work of art – the London-based painter, designer and campaigner, is best known for his elaborate style, serving as a form of statement and living sculpture. Having begun as a photographer and model, later becoming a creative consultant for Steven Klein, David LaChapelle and Ellen von Unwerth among others – Lismore has also hosted exhibitions of his work at Tate Modern, Miami Art Basel and the Venice Biennale, and released the book, ‘Be Yourself, Everyone Else Is Already Taken’. A sustainable fashion advocate, he also worked closely with Dame Vivienne Westwood on many of her activist Climate Revolution initiatives.
Together, B. Åkerlund and Light House align through their shared dedication to radical, counter-cultural style and uncompromised creative subversion, championing experimental fashion, made-to-order craft and independent artisans – from Joe Corrè’s unique Soho space to B’s Los Angeles showroom, The Residency Experience, they passionately support emerging designers.
Taking place on Tuesday 15th September from 7.00-8.00pm with a Q&A to follow (doors open 6.30pm), at the Light House on London’s Berwick Street, this is an unmissable deep dive into the processes and striking visual narratives behind B. Åkerlund’s work shaping visual identities through fashion, film and music.
